Inspiration comes from the oddest places for me. Sometimes all it takes is a picture, or a moment, or even just an overheard phrase and my mind starts working overtime. As a writer, I think I'm the most unbearable then, when I get that new idea... I have to write as much as I can as quickly as I can, while that feeling lasts. If I don't, I lose it, and then I'm back to being stuck.
For "Not My Type" the inspiration came from a trip I took with my mother and sisters to Prince Edward Island. I had never been before even though I read about it constantly in my youth, and the experience was nothing less than absolutely magical. I loved every moment of it. I would move there is a heartbeat if I knew hubby would go along with it. As it is, I have to content myself with the pictures I brought home, the world I'm spinning for Lilly, Adam, Rhiannon, Joe, Adele and Nate, and the bright hope I'll be able to return some day soon.
